Barndo Building Process

This farm-style bungalow located in North Carolina was proposed as a retirement home. It’s owned by independent contractors Cathy, and her husband, Todd McGinnis, who also double up as the owners. They probed code guidance, planned, and executed construction by themselves, resulting in a breeze inspection and low-cost procedures.

On a picturesque 25 acres of land, this barndominium proudly stands, flaunting its bright exterior. It measures 48 by 75 ft, including the 1,820 sq. ft. of heated living quarters and three full-shaded porches that can be utilized as a cozy outdoor area to entertain guests.

Financing – How Did They Do It?

The McGinnis

They effortlessly handled their construction funds with discipline. The McGinnis constructed the barndo with cash, leading to a more hands-on construction.

Barndominium Exterior – Pristine and Monochromatic

From the outside, a neat exterior polishes the rustic appeal of the structure. It presents a calm and comfy ambiance, seamlessly blending with the environment. And at night, it shines majestically due to the excellent lighting– it reminds me of a bright vacation cabin.

Let’s also credit their fantastic porch, which is well and frequently adorned. Depending on what event the family celebrates, the barndo matches Cathy’s front porch decor and styling. It also exhibits a sweet entrance and facade with its choice of landscape.
